Kathmandu: Nepal is currently experiencing the combined effects of Westerly and local winds, along with a significant influx of water vapor-rich air from the Bay of Bengal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
These conditions are contributing to partly to generally cloudy skies across the country today. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, particularly in the high hilly and mountainous regions, with isolated showers possible elsewhere.
Tonight’s forecast suggests continued cloud cover throughout the country, with light rain and thunderstorms likely in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Some light snowfall may also occur in parts of the high hills and mountains.
The influence of the Bay of Bengal’s moisture-laden air typically brings increased humidity and instability in the atmosphere, often leading to convective weather activities such as storms and sporadic rainfall. These conditions are expected to continue intermittently over the coming days.
